Group Home Manager

The Group Home Manager oversees all day-to-day operations of the Bell House group home for foster care youth. The Group Home Manager is responsible for the provision of in-home observation, coaching, and supervision of direct care staff working in the group home. The Group Home Manager also works directly with the Care Coordinator to coordinate the development and implementation of care plans and permanency goals for each group home resident. The Group Home Manager is responsible for on-call crisis intervention and covering direct care shifts as needed.

The Group Home Manager is also responsible for completing administrative tasks necessary to group home operations and resident care, and oversees adherence with Trent Hill Center policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness for staff and residents.

The Group Home Manager will:

·     Oversee the behavior plan and house rules, and, when necessary, holds direct care staff accountable for using the system as it is intended. 

·     Communicates regularly with the Care Coordinator and direct care staff about changes in resident status, updates to individual behavior plans and any other “need to know” information.

·     Reviews daily concern notes, major behavior forms, and grievance forms, and follows-up, as appropriate, per Trent Hill Center’s policies and procedures. 

·     Participates and provides input in case staffing meetings, child and family team meetings, and biweekly staff meetings. 

·     Works closely with the Kitchen Supervisor on meal planning as needed.

·     Prepares agenda for and participates in weekly supervision meetings with Executive Director.

·     Conducts regular in-home observation, coaching, and supervision of direct care staff as well as two group supervisions sessions per month.

·     Provides the Executive Director with suggestions or opportunities for improvement in the day-to- day functioning of the group home, including training suggestions for direct care staff and via participation in annual strategic planning for Trent Hill Center. 

·     Interviews with potential Residential Counselors for open positions.

·     Completes staff schedule and troubleshoots scheduling issues.

·     Initiates staff disciplinary action when necessary.  

·     Works closely with Compliance Specialist to ensure Trent Hill Center is adhering to licensing, contracting and accreditation guidelines. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have one year experience as a direct care worker and have a solid understanding of and commitment to Trent Hill Center’s mission, vision, philosophy, core values, and trauma-informed care model. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but appropriate Trent Hill Center experience along with prior supervisory experience will be considered. The Group Home Manager will report directly to the Executive Director.
